A 35-year-old woman driving in Jamaica Hills jumped a curb and struck two children Friday afternoon before driving off and crashing her vehicle into the front of a home two blocks away, according to the NYPD.

It was just after 3:30 p.m. when a woman was seen on surveillance video pushing a stroller with her two-year-old and holding hands with her six-year-old on 170th Street and Jamaica Avenue when, suddenly, a yellow Mustang enters the frame knocking over the two boys.

The children suffered bumps and bruises but were not seriously injured, police said. The driver sped away and minutes later, the Mustang with North Carolina plates, smashed into the front of a home on 172nd Street, according to the NYPD. A family, including a pregnant woman, was inside the home but were not injured, police said.

The driver tried to flee the scene on foot but was wrestled to the ground by onlookers until police arrived and took her into custody, according to authorities.

Witnesses told reporters the woman appeared to be drunk and was belligerent with the arresting officers, police said.
