Police are looking for a man who followed a teenager into a high school in Astoria, then beat him up and robbed him of his phone.
According to police, at 6:38 p.m. on Feb. 11, the unidentified suspect followed the 18-year-old male victim into St. John’s Preparatory School, located at 21-21 Crescent St.
As the victim entered an elevator, law enforcement sources said, the crook punched the victim several times about the head, causing swelling and bruising. The assailant stole the victim’s cellphone before fleeing the scene.
Officers from the 114th Precinct responded to the incident. The victim was treated for his injuries at Mount Sinai Queens Hospital.
Police describe the suspect as a black man in his 20s, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 175 pounds. he was last seen wearing a blue jacket and blue pants.
