Detectives continue to investigate the deadly shooting of a 17-year-old man outside the Ravenswood Houses in Astoria early on Sunday morning.

Police said the gunfire erupted just before 5:20 a.m. on Aug. 26 at the public housing complex located on 21st Street between 35th and 36th Avenues.

Officers from the 114th Precinct and PSA Unit 9 responded to a 911 call about the shooting and found 29-year-old Jelan Moreira, who lived at the Ravenswood Houses, unconscious and unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest.

Paramedics rushed Moreira to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

During the preliminary investigation, cops picked up a 17-year-old male teenager believed to be connected to the homicide and took him into custody for further questioning. As of Monday morning, no charges have been filed against him.

Law enforcement sources said detectives were also questioning a second individual who may have been connected to the shooting.
