Italian Charities of America Flea Market
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, the Italian Charities of America will be hosting a flea market. Come on down to 83-20 Queens Blvd. to check out vendors selling books, toys, clothes jewelry, holiday gifts and more! Handmade and homemade treasures will be available for purchase, along with breakfast and lunch.
Diwali Festival: Kathak, Bhangra, & Beyond
Celebrate Diwali at Flushing Town Hall in an afternoon packed with dancing, cooking, henna, crafts and more! The celebration will run from 1 to 4p.m. Tickets are available for purchase online or at the door.
Head to Temple Bethel Sholom in Flushing to take part in the fourth annual Chicken Soup Cook-Off. At 6:30p.m. Saturday, join the crowd gathering from far and wide to celebrate chicken and broth. Reservations can be made by calling 718-463-4143, tickets will be available at the door.
Joke in the Box: An Introduction to Gag Cartooning
Emily Flake, a cartoonist frequently featured in the New Yorker, will be holding this workshop at Q.E.D in Astoria from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. The event will consist of exercises meant to generate ideas, spark jokes and inspire cartoons. Tickets can be found on the Q.E.D. website.
Honor the men and women who have served our country in the military at this concert from flautist and composer Stephen Josephs. Held at the Voelker Orth Museum, this event will feature spirited music ranging from pop to jazz. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
