GLEN OAKS — Cops were investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash on a snowy Glen Oaks street Thursday night that left a teenage driver dead and his passenger seriously injured.

Police said the incident occurred Nov. 15 just before 10:45 p.m. at the intersection of 264th Street and 79th Avenue.

Officers from the 105th Precinct, upon arriving at the scene, found a damaged 2017 Honda Civic sedan with two occupants: a 19-year-old male driver and a 21-year-old male passenger in the front seat. Both had suffered trauma about the body.

According to authorities, the Honda Civic was heading southbound on 264th Street and passed through a stop sign when it was struck on the rear passenger side by a 2008 Honda Accord operated by a 44-year-old man.

The impact caused the Honda Accord to strike a parked, unoccupied 2015 Chevrolet Suburban, authorities said.

Following the collision, law enforcement sources said the Honda Accord fled the location and turned onto Union Turnpike eastbound.

The vehicle then turned right onto 264th Street and struck a parked, unoccupied 2005 Ford Freestyle, police said.

Paramedics rushed the two victims to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, where the driver was pronounced dead. His identity was withheld by police, pending family notification. The passenger remained hospitalized in stable condition, authorities said.

No arrests have been made as of yet, and the investigation was ongoing.
