Ridgewood’s 104th Precinct needs the public’s help in finding the suspects responsible for two recent commercial vehicle break-ins on neighborhood streets.
Law enforcement sources said the first burglary occurred at 3:55 p.m. on Jan. 12 in front of an apartment building on Jefferson Avenue, between Cypress and Wyckoff Avenues.
Police reported that an unknown male suspect broke into a parked Ford Econoline van and removed several unknown items. The 104th Precinct, in a post to its Twitter account, indicated that the suspect broke a rear window and attempted to grab various tools before fleeing.
Cops described the suspect as a Hispanic male with a light complexion, standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing about 135 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and a black hat.
The 104th Precinct Detective Squad is investigating that caper, as well as a second vehicle burglary which occurred at 2 a.m. on Jan. 14 in the area of Fresh Pond Road and Linden Street.
According to a second post on the precinct’s Twitter account, unidentified perpetrators broke into a parked, white Ford van and removed construction tools.
At this point, police have not indicated whether the two burglaries are connected. QNS reached out to the NYPD for further details, and will update the story once they are made available.
