Councilman Robert Holden hosted a back-to-school giveaway outside of his district office in Middle Village on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Children, who are preparing to return to school, either remotely or in-person, by the end of the month, were gifted with masks, hand sanitizers, water bottles and thermometers.
Teachers arrived to school on Tuesday to begin training for blended learning. About 75 percent of New York City’s public school students will return to school buildings in some capacity beginning on Sept. 21.
