A man was robbed at gunpoint in front of a commercial strip in Fresh Meadows last month and police are continuing their search for the gunman, who remains at large.

Police from the 107th Precinct in Fresh Meadows reported that the 38-year-old victim was attempting to enter his vehicle in front of 188-16 Union Tpke. just before 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22, when he was approached by a stranger who pulled out a firearm and demanded his Rolex watch. The victim refused to comply, according to an NYPD spokeswoman, and the suspect ran off empty-handed southbound on 188th Street toward 81st Avenue. The victim was not injured during the attempted robbery.

The NYPD released a surveillance photo of the suspect and described him as having a medium complexion but he wore a scarf over his face. He was wearing a blue bucket hat, an olive green military-style field jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
