A Jamaica Hills senior was struck and killed in broad daylight while she was trying to cross a residential street one block south of Hillside Avenue in Queens Village last week.

Police from the 105th Precinct responded to 911 calls of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 89th Avenue and 212th Place at 2:20 p.m. when they found an 85-year-old woman lying on the roadway with severe trauma to the body.

EMS rushed the victim to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Queens, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Further investigation by the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad determined that Concordia Bleza Lewis of 179th Place was crossing 212th Place when she was struck by the driver of a 2021 Honda Passport SUV traveling westbound on 89th Avenue just after making a left turn southbound on 212th Place. The 44-year-old motorist remained at the scene and was not arrested and the investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD’s Highway District Collision Investigation Squad.
