Two men sought in commercial burglary at Richmond Hill sneaker store: NYPD

Police from the 102nd Precinct in Richmond Hill are looking for at least two men who broke into a high-end sneaker store after ramming the security gate with their SUV on the morning of Sunday, Jan. 14.

At approximately 4:40 a.m., a gray BMW utility vehicle mounted the sidewalk in front of Sample New York at 109-25 Jamaica Ave. and rammed the gate. Two men gained entry and removed approximately $8,000 worth of merchandise before running out of the store and driving off in the vehicle in an unknown direction, police said.

The NYPD released surveillance images Wednesday that show the BMW and the two suspects who are described as having medium builds dressed in all dark clothing with face coverings.

Through Jan. 21, the 102nd Precinct has reported 6 burglaries so far in 2024, six fewer than the dozen reported at the same point last year, a decrease 0f 50%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
