QNS Weekender: Six things to do in Queens this weekend

Enjoy a wide variety of events and musical performances in Queens. There is a guarantee that you will be able to find something that you enjoy. Most of these events will take place at venues such as the TV Eye in Ridgewood.

 

Friday, Feb. 2

Nosaj Thing b2b Jacques Greene

Come to the HOLO to see back to back musical performances by Nosaj Thing and Jacques Greene. (HOLO, 1090 Wyckoff Ave., Ridgewood. 10 p.m. Admission: $35.40)

The Thing at the TV Eye

Known as one of the founding members of the stoner-rock genre. The Thing will be performing on Feb. 2 at the TV Eye. (TV Eye, 1647 Weirfield St., Ridgewood. 8 p.m. Admission: $15)

 

Saturday, Feb. 3

 

Be There Film Fest

This unique film festival allows creators to present their own films. All films have to be under twenty minutes and the event it first-come first serve. (The Windjammer, 552 Grandview Ave., Flushing. 7 p.m. Admission: $5-$15)

Kalí Rodriguez

Performing at the Louis Armstrong House Museum. Kalí is known for blending traditional sounds with the sounds of Cuban culture in a unique performance. (Louis Armstrong House Museum, 34-56 107th St., Corona. 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Admission: Free)

 

Sunday, Feb. 4

 

Queens Family Camp Fair and Activity Expo

Spend some quality time with your family at the Camp Fair and Activity Expo. Families can participate in arts and crafts, raffles, games and much more. (Plaxall/LIC Culture Lab, 5-25 46th Ave., Long Island City. 12–3 p.m. Admission: Free)

Open Mic at Q.E.D.

Head to the Q.E.D. for a free open mic session. Performers are expected to sign up at least 30 minutes in advance. (Q.E.D., 27-16 23rd Ave., Astoria. 5 p.m. Admission: Free)
