Queens officials say boro ready to weather winter

With winter a little more than a month away, the New York City government has completed all the necessary arrangements in case the city gets blanketed with snow, forcing schools to close, businesses to shut down and roads to become a hazardous nightmare.

The Queens Borough Cabinet met Tuesday to make sure all of the city agencies located in Queens were ready in the event of a major snowstorm.

No one at the meeting made predictions on the severity of this year
