Fewer than half the children who attended summer school in School District 29 passed the basic math and reading tests required for promotion to the next grade, according to a list of scores obtained by the Times/Ledger.
The list, prepared by the southeast Queens school district, showed that only 42 percent of the elementary students passed the math test, while 46 percent of the junior high school students passed. The reading test scores were similar with 46 percent of the district
