Queens Cop Takes His

Own Life In D.As Office
"Detective Sanchez had a tremendous capacity for work and brought with him keen intelligence and great compassion," said Queens District Attorney Richard Brown. "He was never daunted by his mission. He had an extraordinary ability to console and comfort the most traumatized victim and to coax and care for the most reluctant witness."
Sanchez began his police career in Brooklyn, but eventually settled down in Queens with Queens Norths 115 Pct. He later moved to the Queens Homicide and Special Victims Squad. He was recently assigned to the D.A.s Special Victims Bureau.
"People are very upset," said Mary De Bourbon, spokesperson for the D.As office. "He was a wonderful detective. He was smart, capable, and a pleasure to work with."
Sanchez is survived by his wife and three adult children.
