HAMMELS – Five men were arrested after a shootout Saturday that left three of them with gunshot wounds, police said.

Officers on foot patrol responded to 84-16 Rockaway Beach Blvd. at 12:30 a.m. and discovered 23-year-old Arverne resident Eric Scarborough allegedly firing shots from a bicycle, said police spokeswoman Officer Jennara Everleth.

Scarborough was arrested along with Reggie Smalls, 21, also a suspect in the shootout who was taken to Jamaica Hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the left arm and right leg, said Everleth.

Two others allegedly involved, Jason Moorer, 19, and Raquan Wilson, 20, were arrested on charges of criminal trespassing at Beach 87th St. and Rockaway Freeway, said Everleth. Moorer had sustained three gunshot wounds to the back and Wilson had lacerations about his body, said Everleth.

A fifth man, 24-year-old Kareem Oliphant, was taken to St. James Hospital with a gunshot wound to his left arm. He was arrested on a previous warrant, said Everleth.
