in Brooklyn after crime spree

SOUTH JAMAICA – Two South Jamaica men were arrested Sunday morning in Brooklyn after what police said was a crime spree that spanned two boroughs.

Police from the 75th Precinct noticed a stolen livery cab in the New Lots section of Brooklyn at about 8 a.m., police said. They apprehended Brendon Elbourne, 19, of 150-33 116th Ave. and after a brief foot pursuit arrested Gregory Gill, 21, of 116-30 143rd St.

After the arrest, police said two victims in the car, one a 14-year-old boy and the other a 15-year-old girl, said they had been forced into the livery cab at gunpoint by the two suspects as the victims left Coney Island earlier.

The livery cab driver was assaulted and robbed after he drove the four to South Jamaica, police said. The driver, who was in stable condition after being treated for a head injury, was forced out of the car at gunpoint by the two suspects, police said.

The suspects then drove the cab to New Lots where they raped and sodomized the 15-year-old girl, police said.

Both victims were in stable condition at a local hospital, police said. An imitation pistol was recovered, police said.

Gill and Elbourne have been charged with kidnapping, rape, sodomy, robbery, assault, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal possession of a weapon and child endangerment, police said.
