Police searched the house of Bruce Steinfelder, 55, on 153-34 58th Rd. in Flushing Jan. 22 where detectives found 44 licensed weapons and 25 unlicensed arms, according to the DA's office.

Steinfelder, who worked as an electrician, was arraigned on Jan. 23 in State Supreme Court in Kew Gardens.

He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second, third and fourth degree as well as possession of rifles and shotguns. He could face up to 15 years in prison if he is convicted.

“According to the charges, the defendant stockpiled deadly weapons including assault weapons, rifles, handguns and shotguns, thereby posing a potential threat to public safety,” District Attorney Richard Brown said.

The guns seized by police included 51 pistols, eight assault weapons including one Israeli Military Industries 9mm Uzi, four shotguns and six rifles. Four blackjacks were also confiscated.

Steinfelder's bail was set at $100,000 and his next court date was scheduled for Friday.
