Sgt. John Roach, 40, was discharged from Jamaica Hospital later that day after being treated for minor injuries. The suspect, Charlotte Jervis, 40, was charged with attempted murder, assault of a police officer and reckless endangerment. She and her roommate, Norma Landaverde, 20, were also charged with drug possession after officers discovered a small amount of cocaine during their search, police said.According to police, Roach was stabbed once in the shoulder when he and other narcotics officers busted open the door of the first floor apartment at 87-72 148th St. at 6:30 a.m.”I just woke up and saw them crashing through her door,” said a 52-year-old upstairs neighbor. The woman, who declined to give her name, said that after the stabbing she has decided to move in August to Delaware to get away from violence.”I can't handle it anymore,” she said.Crime seems to be no stranger to the area around Hillside Avenue that borders Briarwood and Jamaica.Police said last month a woman was murdered in her apartment next door to where Roach was stabbed. The suspects in that case were interviewed but cleared in the stabbing, police said.A couple months ago a woman and a man robbed a bodega a block away on Sutphin Boulevard, according to the co-owner, Mohammed Hasan.Hasan, 27, said that around 3 a.m. that night, a skinny young woman pretended to buy a soda at his supermarket at 87-77 Sutphin Blvd. while her male accomplice, wearing a mask, went behind the counter and muscled away the money in the register. The man handed the some $400 in cash to the woman, who then fled, according to Hasan, who said he was cut on the hand by the man during the scuffle. And about three months ago, just across the street at another convenience store, employee Hussain Munasser said a teenager entered his bodega swinging a metal pipe at his brother, who was working there at the time. Days earlier, Munasser said, his brother had chased the teenager away after the youth had tried to robbed him.
