Everywhere you look, inexperienced players will be asked to shoulder a significant load in the Catholic School League. None more so than at St. John's Prep.
The Red Storm, fresh off their CHSAA ‘A' city title, lost their entire starting lineup to graduation. The only returning senior is George Santos, seldom used a season ago.
Up from the jayvee, junior Henry Ortiz, a 6-foot-1 winger, will be asked to carry much of the scoring load. He's a very quick, athletic shooter, who Coach James Gatto thinks “can be a pretty nice ballplayer.”
St. John's Prep is also small - 6-foot-3 center Caron Zigler is their biggest starter. Sam Chadwick, a senior who didn't play last season, is a strong slasher who can shoot from the perimeter. He is joined by 6-foot-3 sophomore James Reel.
