Edward D. Re passed away on September 17. Re was a Chief Judge Emeritus for the U.S. Court of International Trade. He was also a Distinguished Professor of Law Emeritus at St. John's University School of Law; a retired Colonel with the U.S. Air Force, JAG Department; former chairman of the Foreign Claims Settlement Commission of the U.S.; former Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs. Beloved husband of Margaret. Loving father of Mary Ann Re, Anthony J. Re, Marina Re, Edward J. Re Jr., Victor M. Re, Margaret T. Re, Matthew J. Re, Joseph R. Re, Mary Elizabeth Hoes, Mary Joan Re, Mary Ellen Caggiano, and Nancy Cregan. Grandfather of 23 and great-grandfather of 1. Arrangements were handled by the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home in Rockaway Beach. A funeral Mass was held at St. Francis De Sales Church in Belle Harbor. Interment was at St. Charles Cemetery.
