Some honey for the Bee Garden

Buzz, buzz and more buzz!
The buzz at the Queens Botanical Garden (QBG) is about the Aviation Development Council (ADC) becoming the first sponsor of their Bee Garden.
For over thirty years, the Bee Garden, located in the QBG at 43-50 Main Street, Flushing, has been used to teach children from all grade levels about bees, how honey is made, beehives and what beekeepers do.
&#8220The bee garden is one of the few places in the New York metropolitan area where people can observe working beehives. The collection serves as an educational tool to schoolchildren on field trips and our other many visitors,” said Susan Lacerte, executive director of the QBG. The ADC, a bridge organization between the regional aviation industry and the communities it serves, presented the QBG with a $5,000 check on Thursday, October 19, in support of the Bee Garden.
&#8220What better way for ADC to express its mission of flight and outreach to the community than with support for a teaching collection featuring some of nature's finest aviators,” Lacerte said.
