Nine months after the city reversed the direction of a one-block stretch of St. Paul Avenue to divert unwanted traffic, residents of neighboring blocks are saying the change has made their streets unlivable and are asking Community Board 10 to consider new options.
The latest push pits residents of St. Paul Avenue between Pelham Parkway South and E. 196th Street against residents of Burr Avenue, the street now used by the bulk of diverted cars, as well as residents of Colonial Avenue, who must now use Burr Avenue to reach their homes.
