How did you get into business?
Upon graduating from New York Law School, David M. Fish immediately opened his own practice. Having worked as a law clerk throughout his studies, he established many connections in the law community. Networking was a crucial aspect of his entrance into personal practice as his contacts were familiar with his abilities and recommended him to others. He has been in practice for more than ten years.
What do you do?
The main area of Fish’s practice is employment law, but he deals with all legal matters ranging from commercial law to criminal defense. Fish handles the aforementioned legal matters in the capacity of legal counselor and trial attorney. Fish is also an adjunct professor of law at New York Law School and advisor to the school’s Moot Court Association.

“My clients receive personal, hands-on attention, and always have a direct line of communication to me,” Fish states. Working on his own allows Fish to personally engage in all aspects of the legal process and remain accountable to himself and his clients. How did you get into business?
Wright got her beginnings in the field when she took a basic income tax course. It was also about 19 years about that she joined H&R Block, which has been in business for 52 years. The Astoria location has been around for an estimated 30 years.
What do you do?
H&R Block prepares taxes and provides guaranteed assistance. It also offers free consultations and a free “double check challenge,” where it will check taxes that a person had done elsewhere. They also offer assistance to clients who receive notice from the IRS and represent them.
What is special about your business?
Wright said that it is the people at H&R Block that sets them apart from other companies. She said that the mixture of new employees and ones that have been there for anywhere from 10 to 30 years or more makes a huge difference. Wright also explained that her H&R Block team has members representing almost every language, nationality and age group. “We have wonderful people,” Wright said.
