Cops honored at 107th Precinct

At the most recent meeting of the 107th Precinct Community Council, two officers - Mike Russo and Victor Mauro - were honored for catching one of two men who robbed a woman at gunpoint.
Earlier this month, the officers were called to the scene of a robbery near 169th Street and the Grand Central Parkway. A 40-year-old woman said that she had been robbed of her purse by two thugs toting a 9 mm handgun.
While canvassing the neighborhood, the victim spotted one of her attackers, and the officers arrested him and recovered the woman’s purse and the gun.
In honor of their work, on Tuesday, April 24 the officers were presented with Cop of the Month plaques by their Precinct Commanding Officer, Captain Stephen Cirabisi.
