Four men were stranded and ultimately rescued on a jetty off the Rockaway shore while fishing on Wednesday, August 22.
According to police, the New York Police Department (NYPD) Aviation Unit responded to their call for help; divers went into the water and secured the men so they could be hoisted into the helicopter.
The rescue was affected and none of the men suffered any injuries.
Cops Recover Floater
On Monday, August 27, police responded to Beach 169th Street and Rockaway Point Boulevard (one mile west of the Breezy Point jetty), where they recovered the unidentified body of a woman in her 60s.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene; there were no signs of trauma to the body and a medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
