State Senator Shirley Huntley was joined by an enthusiastic group of children and parents from southeast Queens for the celebration of the 3rd Annul Winter White Toy Drive. Huntley co-hosted the event together with Christina Winslow, founder of A Cause, A Concern, A Solution Network Inc.
“I am so pleased to have been invited to participate in the 3rd Annual Winter White Toy Drive,” said Huntley. “To see those great big smiles from all the children as they received a gift for this holiday season was a joy. I must commend Ms. Winslow on the wonderful job she has done for the past three years with this event and I am sure there will be many more to come.”
More than 1,500 local families attended the toy drive, which took place at Amazura in Jamaica on Saturday, December 15. There was food, entertainment and most importantly, gifts for all the children.
Other participating institutions included the Moving On Truck Club and The Ruff Ryder’s, Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1056 and Transit Workers for Children.
Winslow said, “The focus is to improve the lives of others, so here we were able to provide families a chance to smile and have a moment to cherish with hope and happiness. I believe networking is the key for change and with Senator Huntley joining our efforts, this is just the beginning of this journey.”
