Revolving door for incumbentsin Congress

Incumbents retained their seats in this year’s Congressional races:

  • Gary Ackerman beat Elizabeth Berney and Jun Policarpio with 74 percent of the vote.
  • In District 7, Joseph Crowley beat William Britt, Jr., 81 to 19 percent.
  • Anthony Weiner had an easy victory over Alfred Donohue, 93 to 7 percent.
  • Republican candidate Allan Romaguera lost to Democrat Nydia M. Velzquez, 81 to 19 percent.
  • It was Carolyn Maloney over Robert Heim and Isaiah Matos in District 14.
  • Charles Rangel defended his position against rivals Edward Daniels, Martin Koppel and Craig Schley.
