Some people believe you can never go back after having a superior experience, but I did just that when I returned to Sushi Village and enjoyed a superb meal again. I had visited the restaurant when it first opened and enjoyed the ambiance and the meal. My return just last week reinforced my original impression. Now they are offering an incredible feast – all you can eat service for a preset price.
I was amazed at the meal that was offered for $19.99 Monday through Thursday and $21.99 Friday through Sunday. I think it’s the biggest bargain in town. I couldn’t believe what a feast awaited me.
We began our meal with a crispy lettuce and tomato fresh field green salad with a pungent spicy dressing. We were then offered soup. I chose a Miso soup, the traditional broth with pieces of tofu. Our next choice was called kitchen starters and that had us eating a crispy seafood tempura, including sea scallop, shrimp, kani and white fish. Each succulent and fried to crispiness but not greasy. The beef negimaki, a beef roll stuffed with scallion grilled with teriyaki sauce, was also cooked to our order. A favorite was the barbecued squid – an interesting flavorful combo of sauce and crunchy squid.
Our next choice was the sushi and sashimi choices. Knowing what these dishes usually cost I couldn’t believe we were going to actually have as much as I want of my favorite dishes like spicy tuna rolls, California roll, pepper tuna seared with special pepper and ponzu vinaigrette. Then we were offered special hand rolls like spicy salmon roll, crunch shrimp and crab roll. There were even special rolls offered like my favorite crazy tuna roll, pepper tuna and avocado inside and topped with spicy tuna, spider roll, soft shell crab, asparagus and radish, sprouts, avocado and wrapped in cucumber. Amazing! Both the quality of the fish and the quantity offered is overwhelming.
There is even a choice of dessert offered. We chose fresh fruit and ice cream.
I think Sushi Village is the “Buy of the Year.” The handsome room with warm wood walls creates an inviting atmosphere. The owner and manager – Scott – is hands on and there making sure everyone is getting attentive service. So try it – you’ll love it!
