RACES WITHOUT PRIMARIES

District 22

• Democratic incumbent Peter Vallone Jr. is running for reelection in the 22nd Council District with zero opponents in the primary. He is expected to face challenges from Green Party candidate Lynne Serpe, and Republican Tom Dooley. Jerry Kahn may also challenge for the seat.

District 24

• Democratic incumbent James Gennaro is running for reelection in the 24th District. He has zero competitors in the Democratic Primary, and he may not face a challenge in the general election.

District 30

• In the 30th City Council District, Democrat Elizabeth Crowley is running for reelection for the seat she won in November of 2008. Crowley, who is not facing a primary this year, is going to face a challenge from Republican Tom Ognibene, who held the seat for two terms from 1992 through 2001. Ognibene and Crowley both faced off in a special election in 2008 after former Councilmember Dennis Gallagher resigned. Neither person won the special election.

District 32

• Republican incumbent Eric Ulrich, who won a special election for a seat previously held by Joseph Addabbo, is running for reelection in November. On the Democratic side, Frank Gulluscio is going to challenge Ulrich in a race that is sure to generate many headlines in south Queens.
