It is not believable that a multi-city agency raid on Willets Point businesses was a coincidence (“Willets Point raids were attempt at coercion: Report,” Flushing Times Sept. 24).
Nor is Dave Lombino, the spokesman for the city Economic Development Corp., which is in charge of Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s plan to usurp private Willets Point property for the benefit of real estate developers, believable when he claims the EDC was unaware of the coordinated assault on the Willets Point businesses.
The Urban Justice Center was correct to describe the raid and the manner of the raid itself as questionable and possibly an illegal attempt to coerce private landowners to sell their property.
This is yet another example of the thuggish manner in which Bloomberg operates and his discomfort with the word “democracy.”
