New boutique shows ‘Wild’ side

KrisTEES boutique got a jumpstart on the holiday season on Wednesday, December 2 with “Shine 2009.”
Inspired by the movie “Where the Wild Things Are,” the event was an eye- opening experience to the neighborhood of Astoria. Upon arrival, guests encountered a “live window installation” designed by three up-and-coming Japanese artists – Mieko Anekawa, Hitomi Nozawa and Ruico Oshika. There was also a mini trunk show with local designers, refreshments and just lots of fun to inspire everyone for the holidays.
KrisTEES, a new contemporary women’s boutique located at 24-01 23rd Avenue in Astoria, has been featured in Lucky Magazine, Time Out NY, The New York Daily News and others.
A 13-year veteran of New York City’s fashion industry, boutique owner Kristie Foster showcases emerging global – as well as local – designers.
