Man, 48, impersonated buildings inspector: DA

FLUSHING — A homeless man trespassed on a Flushing man’s property, then falsely told him he was a building inspector, according to the Queens district attorney’s office.

Gregory Williams, 48, allegedly jumped over the fence at of a house at 192nd Street and Underhill Avenue, prompting the homeowner to ask why he was on his property, according to the DA’s office.

“I’m a building inspector,” Williams allegedly said, and the owner asked to see his identification, which Williams said was in his car, according to the DA’s office.

The two walked to Williams’ car and when they got there, Williams entered the car, closed the door and drove away, according to the DA’s office.

Williams is charged with second-degree criminal impersonation and third-degree criminal trespass, the DA’s office said.
