In the article about the new meditation garden in Kissena Corridor Park in the May 6-12 editions of TimesLedger Newspapers, it is stated that, “New York Hospital Queens representatives did not return a request for comment.”
The hospital responded with a statement that same afternoon. Unfortunately, the statement did not reach the reporter due to an e-mail problem.
The following is the statement from New York Hospital Queens:
“We are committed to restoring the area that we used for parking. The restoration process is underway. New York Hospital Queens is collaborating directly with the Parks Department on the restoration project.
“We think the Kissena Corridor Park Conservancy’s idea for a meditation area would be an attractive addition to the neighborhood. New York Hospital Queens is delighted at the prospect of having a beautiful garden opposite our Cancer Center for patients and families to reflect upon.”
