DA says man harassed woman with screwdriver

JAMAICA — A 27-year-old Jamaica man was arrested after he allegedly threatened a woman with a screwdriver, the Queens district attorney said.

Jermaine Grant, of 133-32 143rd St. in Jamaica, was arraigned July 11 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Elisa Koenderman on charges of menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment, Queens DA Richard Brown said.

The defendant, who was released on his own recognizance, will return to court Aug. 19.

On July 10, Grant was alleged to have placed a screwdriver near a woman’s neck and told her, “I am going to open up your head,” the DA said.
