Twelve fine arts students from the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts High School in Astoria spent three days and more than 20 hours starting Saturday, June 26 painting a mural under the Ditmars Boulevard N train station. Lady Pink, a visiting artist from the community, worked with the group of students, from freshman to seniors, to create the mural called “The Great American Art and Culture.” The new mural features interpretations of dance, animation, fashion and theater. The students at the school paint a mural once a year. They have already painted eight murals in past years.
