FDNY releases official first-hand account of 9/11

The FDNY announced the release of FDNY 2001-2011: A Decade of Remembrance and Resilience – the official first-hand account of what happened at the World Trade Center on September 11.
The book contains exclusive photos from the department’s official archive and interviews with dozens of FDNY members who responded that day and worked in the aftermath – with some of the interviews coming just weeks after the attacks.
Former President George W. Bush provides the foreword for the official commemorative book.
The 12” x 10” pictorial-style coffee table book comes in both hardbound and bonded leather editions.
The book also chronicles major FDNY operations over the past decade, including the department’s response to Hurricane Katrina, the earthquake in Haiti and the Miracle on the Hudson plane landing.
The hardbound book is available through the FDNY Foundation at www.fdnybook.com. The standard hardbound edition costs $39.95 and the bonded leather edition costs $69.95. Proceeds from the book benefit the FDNY Foundation, which funds fire safety education, as well as equipment, training and education needs for FDNY members.
