MetroCard Van making visits

In an effort to provide more accessible service, New York City Transit has a mobile outreach program designed especially to serve the needs of the disabled and senior members of all our communities.
State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr., is sponsoring the agency’s MetroCard Van to visit his district again on Wednesday, August 31, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Howard Beach Senior Center, 156-45 84th Street and then from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Maspeth Federal Savings Bank, 56-18 69th Street in Maspeth.
A specially-equipped MetroCard Van will park at the two Howard Beach and Maspeth locations above, and MetroCard Mobile Sales staff will assist residents 65+ and disabled customers in applying for Reduced Fare MetroCards.
All customers may purchase and/or refill MetroCards; report a lost or stolen card; or have a damaged MetroCard replaced on-site. Seniors applying for a reduced-fare MetroCard will need to bring at least 2 types of identification to the MetroCard bus: Medicare Card, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, Driver’s License, or Non-Driver License.
A photographer is available on MetroCard buses to complete applications on-site, free of charge. Disabled passengers can get an application on-site, which they must then have completed by their physician, acknowledging their disability.
For more information, please call Senator Addabbo’s Howard Beach (718-738-1111) or Middle Village (718-497-1630) district offices.
