Queens Courier & QPTV hosts candidate debate

The publisher of The Queens Courier, Victoria Schneps-Yunis moderated two special election debates at Queens Public Television (QPTV) on August 23.

Schneps-Yunis spoke with Philip Goldfeder and Jane Deacy, candidates in Assembly District 23 and with Michael Simanowitz and Marco DeSena, candidates in Assembly District 27.

The debates were hosted by Queens Public Television in conjunction with The Queens Courier with help from the New York City Campaign Finance Board.

A reporter for The Queens Courier moderated a debate with Bob Turner, David Weprin and Christopher Hoeppner, candidates for the Ninth Congressional District seat.

Candidates running for the 28th City Council district seat also took part in a discussion. Councilmember Ruben Wills was joined by community board member, David Kayode and Clifton Stanley Diaz. Former councilmember Allan Jennings Jr. also took part in the dsicussion later on.

Assembly District 23 Debate:

– Sunday, September 11 at 10:30 p.m.

Assembly District 27 Debate:
– Tuesday, September 6 at 7:30 p.m.
– Thursday, September 8 at 6 p.m.
– Saturday, September 10 at 10 a.m.
– Tuesday, September 13 at 10:30 a.m.

Council District 28 Debate:
– Saturday, September 3 at 10 a.m.
– Sunday, September 4 at 10 p.m.
– Tuesday, September 6 at 10 a.m.
– Thursday, September 8 at 6:30 p.m.
