The exterior of a Ravenswood apartment house was charred by flames during a one-alarm fire early last Saturday morning, Feb. 18, it was reported. Fire Department sources stated that the blaze ignited at around 2:30 a.m., scorching the façade of the residence located in the vicinity of 35th Avenue and Vernon Boulevard. Among the units that responded to the scene (as listed in numerical order) were Engine companies 238, 258, 260, 262 and 263; Ladder companies 106, 115, 116 and 163; Squad Co. 288; Rescue 4 and Battalions 45 and 49-under the direction of Division 14-along with the 114th Precinct and EMS units. There were no reported injuries. Three hose lines were used by firefighters to extinguish the flames, it was noted.
