E. Elmhurst man drags wife from car: Brown

CORONA — An East Elmhurst man dragged his wife along the pavement with his car Feb. 18 after the two got into a verbal argument, according to documents from the Queens district attorney.

Freddy Rodriguez, 46, of 23-51 92nd St., was driving a 2008 Infiniti SUV at around 8:15 p.m. when he got into an argument with his wife, who was standing outside the vehicle.

Rodriguez was stopped at a red light in Corona, but when his wife put her hand on the door handle and demanded he open the door, Rodriguez instead stomped on the gas, blowing through the stop light and knocking his wife to the ground and briefly dragging her along the pavement, the DA said.

Instead of stopping to check on his spouse, who suffered skin damage to her hip, leg and arm, Rodriguez drove away, the DA said.

He was charged with assault, reckless endangerment, leaving the scene and running a red light, the DA said.
