Weekend Work Shuts J Line Bet. Bk., Qns.
J train service will be suspended between Crescent Street and Jamaica Center this weekend, from 6 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 14, until 10 p.m. Sunday, Apr. 15. This service change will also be in effect the following weekend, Apr. 21-22.
Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service between Crescent Street and 121st Street and connect to the Jamaica-Van Wyck station for E train service. J trains will operate between Crescent Street and Chambers Street in Manhattan.
The shuttle buses will stop near J train stations as follows:
– Crescent Street-on Fulton Street at Crescent Street;
– Cypress Hills-at the B13 bus stop on Jamaica Avenue at Hemlock Street (to Jamaica-Van Wyck) or on Crescent Street at Jamaica Avenue (to Crescent Street station);
– 75th Street-Elderts Lane-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 75th Street (to Jamaica-Van Wyck) or at Dexter Court (to Crescent Street);
– 85th Street-Forest Parkway-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 85th Street (to Jamaica-Van Wyck) or at 86th Street (to Crescent Street);
– Woodhaven Boulevard-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at Woodhaven Boulevard;
– 104th Street-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 104th Street;
– 111th Street-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 111th Street;
– 121st Street-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 121st Street; and
– Jamaica-Van Wyck-on the Van Wyck Expressway service road at 89th Avenue.
Additional Subway Changes
The MTA has scheduled a number of service changes for several subway lines throughout the city due to construction work.
These service advisories are current as of Wednesday, Apr. 11. Last minute changes to service and operating schedules may be made due to weather-related conditions or emergency repairs. Check www.mta.info for schedule changes.
Rail lines which run through the area that will be affected include the following:
Service Disruptions Return On 7 Train
Flushing-bound 7 trains will skip the 82nd Street, 90th Street, 103rd Street and 111th Street stations on Saturday, Apr. 14, and Sunday, Apr. 15, from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m.
For service to these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard or Mets-Willets Point, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound 7 train. For service from these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard or 74th Street, then transfer to a Flushing-bound 7 train.
During this time period, it was noted that all trains at the Junction Boulevard station will board at the Manhattan-bound platform.
Additionally, there will be no 7 train service between Queensboro Plaza and Times Square-42nd Street early on Tuesday morning, Apr. 17, from 12:01 until 5 a.m. During this period, 7 trains will operate between Main Street and Queensboro Plaza.
For service between Queens and Manhattan, transfer to the N train at either Queensboro Plaza or Times Square-42nd Street. E train service is also suggested and can be reached at the 74th Street-Roosevelt Avenue station.
Shuttle buses will provide alternate service between Queensboro Plaza and Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue in Long Island City. These buses will make stops at Queens Plaza for E train service.
The shuttle buses will stop at the 7 train stations as follows:
– Queensboro Plaza-on Queens Plaza south at 27th Street;
– Queens Plaza-on Jackson Avenue at Queens Plaza South;
– Court Square-23rd Street-on 44th Drive at 23rd Street (to Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue) or on 23rd Street at 44th Drive (to Queensboro Plaza);
– Hunters Point Avenue-on 21st Street at 49th Avenue; and
– Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue- on Vernon Boulevard at 50th Avenue.
Weekday Express On J Line In Brooklyn
Jamaica Center-bound J trains will operate express service between Myrtle Avenue and Broadway Junction on Thursday, Apr. 12, Friday, Apr. 13, and Wednesday, Apr. 18, through Friday, Apr. 20, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
For service to the Kosciuszko Street, Gates Avenue, Halsey Street and Chauncey Street stations, take the J train to Broadway Junction, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound J train. For service from these stations, take the J train to Myrtle Avenue, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound J train.
During this period, all J trains will board at Broadway Junction from the Manhattan-bound platform.
Some Bklyn.-Bound L Trains End At Myrtle
The last stop for select Rockaway Parkway-bound L trains will be Myrtle Wyckoff Avenues on Monday, Apr. 16, through Friday, Apr. 20, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Riders can transfer between L trains at Myrtle- Wyckoff Avenues to continue their trip.
It was noted that L train service between Rockaway Parkway and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues will operate every 12 minutes. Riders are advised to plan their trips accordingly.
Stations Skipped On E, F Lines In Queens
Manhattan-bound E and F trains will skip the Van Wyck Boulevard station at all times until 5 a.m. Monday, Apr. 16. and again on Tuesday, Apr. 17, through Friday, Apr. 20, from 12:01 until 5 a.m. During these periods, Manhattan-bound F trains will also skip the 75th Avenue and Sutphin Boulevard stations.
For service to these stations, take the E or F train to Union Turnpike or 71st-Continental Avenues, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound E train or a Jamaica-bound F train. For service from these stations, take the E train to Union Turnpike or Jamaica- Van Wyck-or the F train to Union Turnpike or Parsons Boulevard-and then transfer to a Manhattan-bound E or F train.
No Late Night Local On E Train In Qns.
Jamaica Center-bound E trains will run express service between Roosevelt Avenue and 71st-Continental Avenues late nights on Friday, Apr. 13, and Tuesday, Apr. 17, through Friday, Apr. 20, from 12:30 until 5 a.m.
For service to the Elmhurst Avenue, Grand Avenue, Woodhaven Boulevard, 63rd Drive and 67th Avenue stations, take the E train to 71st-Continental Avenues, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound E train. For service from these stations, take the E train to Roosevelt Avenue, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound E train.
Late Night Express Suspended On F Line
Jamaica-bound F trains will run local service between 21st Street- Queensbridge and Roosevelt Avenue every night from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. through Monday, Apr. 16. These trains will stop at 36th Street, Steinway Street, 46th Street, Northern Boulevard and 65th Street.
Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time.
Weekend, Late Night Switches On E & M
E trains will run on the F line in both directions between 36th Street in Queens and West Fourth Street in Manhattan this weekend, from 12;01 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 14, until 5 a.m. Monday, Apr. 16.; and weeknights on Tuesday, Apr. 17, through Friday, Apr. 20, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Manhattan-bound E trains will resume regular service after West Fourth Street, while Jamaica Centerbound E trains will resume regular E train service after 21st Street- Queensbridge.
Additionally, M trains will run on the F line in both directions between 36th Street in Queens and 47th-50th Streets in Manhattan on Tuesday through Thursday, Apr. 19, from 10 p.m. until midnight. Forest Hillsbound M trains will resume regular service at 36th Street and Middle Village bound M trains will resume regular service at 47th-50th Streets.
To reach the Queens Plaza or Court Square-23rd Street stations, take the R train during weekdays and evenings or the 7 train, which can be picked up at either Roosevelt Avenue or Fifth Avenue-42nd Street.
Stops Skipped On N Train In Astoria
Astoria-bound N trains will skip the 39th Avenue, 36th Avenue, Broadway and 30th Avenue stations on Thursday, Apr. 12, and Friday, Apr. 13, from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. This service change will also be in effect on Saturday, Apr. 14, and Sunday, Apr. 15, from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.
On Thursday and Friday, there will be no Q train service between 57th Street-Seventh Avenue in Manhattan and Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard. Q trains do not run to Ditmars Boulevard on the weekend.
For service to the skipped stations in Queens, take the N train to Astoria Boulevard, then transfer to a Manhattan bound N train.
For service from these stations, take the N train to Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to an Astoria-bound N train.
No Weekend A Svc. To The Rockaways
A train service will be suspended between Howard Beach and Far Rockaway this weekend, from 12:15 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 14, until 4:45 a.m. Monday, Apr. 16.
During this time period, the Rockaway Shuttle between Broad Channel and Beach 90th Street will also be shut down.
A train service will operate between 207th Street in Manhattan and either Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard or Howard Beach, while the Rockaway Shuttle will run between Beach 116th Street and Mott Avenue, making stops at the Beach 25th Street, Beach 36th Street, Beach 44th Street, Beach 60th Street, Beach 67th Street, Beach 90th Street, Beach 98th Street and Beach 105th Street.
As alternate service, the MTA will operate a free Far Rockaway shuttle bus between Howard Beach and Mott Avenue and a Rockaway Park shuttle bus between Howard Beach and Beach 116th Street; the latter bus will stop at Broad Channel.
Riders can transfer between trains and the free shuttle buses at the Howard Beach, Mott Avenue and Beach 116th Street stations.
