Suspect Sought For Deli Stickups

The armed bandit behind three recent heists at grocery stores in Ozone Park, Jamaica and City Line, Brooklyn remains at large as of press time, and police are asking the public’s help in tracking him down.

The suspect wanted for three stickups of delis in Ozone Park, Jamaica and City Line in Brooklyn.

Law enforcement agents released last Thursday, June 7, surveillance camera images of the suspect, described as a 30-year-old African- American male standing between 5’11”- and 6’1″-tall and weighing about 175 lbs.

In each of the incidents, the NYPD stated, the perpetrator walked into the shop, approached a worker and, while displaying a firearm, demanded cash. Police noted that the suspect struck one of the employees in one of the incidents, causing minor injuries.

After stealing unknown quantities of cash and cigarettes in each incident, authorities said, the gunman fled from the scene in an unknown direction.

Police said the first caper took place at around 9:05 a.m. on May 21 at the Getty Gas Station food mart located at 78-01 Linden Blvd. Later that day, authorities said, the crook visited the IVB Deli at 115-01 Farmers Blvd. in South Jamaica at around 9:50 a.m., where he struck a 21-yearold worker in the head while making his demand for cash.

Finally, the perpetrator robbed the Liberty Deli at 1090 Liberty Ave. in City Line two days later on the evening of May 23 at around 7:30 p.m.

Officers from the 106th Precinct responded to the Ozone Park heist, and 113th Precinct officers rushed to the scene of the South Jamaica stickup. The City Line robbery was reported to the 75th Precinct.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
