Cody To 115th Pct.; Manson Arrives
There was new leadership at the 104th Precinct as of yesterday, Wednesday, Jan. 30, as Deputy Inspector Michael Cody, the commanding officer of the Ridgewood-based force, was transferred to the same position at the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights.
Taking over for Cody at the 104th Precinct is Capt. Christopher Manson, who most recently served as executive officer of the 109th Precinct in Flushing and the 114th Precinct in Astoria.
The 104th Precinct’s new top cop was introduced by its outgoing commander at the 104th Precinct Community Council meeting Wednesday night at Maspeth Town Hall.
In an email sent to the Times Newsweekly last Thursday, Jan. 24, Cody-who had led the precinct which patrols Ridgewood, Glendale, Maspeth and Middle Village since July 2010-thanked all who supported and assisted him during his tenure.
“The assignment was challenging and rewarding,” he said. “I am grateful for the many kind comments I have received since news broke of my departure” earlier that day.
Cody stated that Manson has “over 25 years of service” at the NYPD and is “eager to assume command and meet the great people across this precinct.”

Cody, meanwhile, is moving on to the 115th Precinct, where he succeeds Deputy Inspector Thomas Kavanagh, who formerly led the 108th Precinct in Long Island City. The 115th Precinct covers parts of Corona, East Elmhurst and Jackson Heights.
