Multiple Fire Department units rushed to an Elmhurst location after the brick façade of a building collapsed onto a pedestrian last Thursday afternoon, Apr. 4, it was reported. According to sources, the incident occurred at around 4 p.m. at the corner of 92nd Street and Queens Boulevard. The bricks reportedly crashed off of the roof of a building housing a GameStop video game store, Emigrant Savings bank and a U.S. Armed Forces recruitment center. A 22-year-old man walking through the area at the time was struck by the debris and injured. Paramedics reportedly rushed him to a local hospital for treatment of a broken leg and other injuries not considered to be life-threatening. The Department of Buildings inspected the structural integrity of the building.
