Gwdc Honors Community Players

The Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation celebrated its 34th anniversary at Woodhaven Manor on Friday, June 7. Mr. Scaturro of Scaturro’s Food Market (left) was honored with the ‘Business of the Year’ award. Melva Miller, director of economic development office of The Queens Borough President’s Office, received the ‘Women Of The Year’ award. Stephen R. Esposito, president of The Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation (center), was named the ‘Man Of The Year.’ Maria Thompson, executive director of The Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation, is pictured second from left, and John R. Patel, owner of the Haven Card Shop (right), was named ‘Business Owner Of The Year.’
