Crooks Leave Them with Empty Pockets In Stickup

Bandits Strike At Ozone Park Shop

A pair of armed bandits robbed five men inside a grocery store in Ozone Park late last Friday night, Jan. 10, police reported.

Law enforcement sources said the stickup occurred at around 10:25 p.m. inside a location on Liberty Avenue near 108th Street.

According to authorities, five men were inside the location when the two suspects-described only as black males carrying undetermined weapons-entered the shop and ordered all of the victims to lie on the ground.

Once the victims complied with the bandits’ request, police noted, the crooks gained access to the cash register and removed $800 in cash.

Reportedly, the perpetrators also emptied the pockets of each victim and removed additional amounts of cash as well as assorted jewelry and two cell phones.

After taking the loot, law enforcement sources said, the suspects exited from the store and fled from the scene inside a Toyota Camry.

The robbery was reported to police, and officers from the 106th Precinct responded to the location. There were no reported injuries.

Despite a search of the surrounding area, no immediate arrests were made, it was noted.

The case was presented to the 106th Precinct Detective Squad for further investigation, police said.

Anyone with any information regarding the heist or the suspects’ whereabouts that could prove helpful is asked to call the 106th Precinct Detective Squad at 1-718-845-2260; all calls will be kept confidential.
