Clutch Corner Kick Seals Shutout Victory

On the pitch, the Blau Weiss Gottschee (BWG) U-15 girls advanced to the next round of the New York State Cup, defeating their opponent 1-0 on a header from a well placed corner kick.

The Blau Weiss Gottsche U-15 girls advanced to the next round of the New York State Cup on a header goal from Cassie Renhart.

In other game action, the U-9 Royals tied one opponent and won another game over the weekend.

In the first match, which ended in a 4-4 tie against the U-9 Islas Malvinas squad, the goals were scored by Dylan Gunning, Fernando Urgilez, Emilian Paez, and Cristian Draguca.

In their second game the U-9 team won against N.Y. Stars by a 3-1 score. In this win goals were scored by Shane Lee, Emiliano Paez and Sebastian Cusu.

The U-15 girls, by winning their New York State Cup group, advanced to the next round of the state cup tournament. In their most recent win, the girls won 1-0 over Lakeville Grove Strikers. In this match, Cassie Renhart scored the only, and winning goal, with a header from off a corner kick.

The U-19 boys won their game against Soccer ABC by a 2-1 score. Both goals were scored by Ian Ryding.

BWG Clinics

The BWG soccer club held clinics the past two weekends for players ages five to nine at Juniper Valley Park so players can receive tips from coaches and learn to hone their footie skills.

On two consecutive Saturdays, Apr. 5 and Apr. 12, BWG held soccer clinics for boys and girls.

Altogether, over 300 kids registered on the first day to try their feet at soccer.

The clinic will be held every Saturday afternoon in April from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
