By Bill Parry

An early morning shooting claimed the life of a 35-year-old man in Springfield Gardens Saturday, authorities said.

Police responded to a call at 125-22 Merrick Blvd. just after 2:30 a.m. and found South Jamaica resident Timothy Tripp with a gunshot wound to his head and torso, according to the NYPD.

Emergency responders arrived and pronounced Tripp dead at the scene, police said.

The NYPD said that there had been no arrests and the investigation was ongoing. Police blocked off Edge Bar and Lounge Saturday afternoon as they performed the investigation.
