Cops are still looking for a male driver who lured a 10-year-old girl off a street in Richmond Hill and took her for an hour-long ride through the area last week.
Police released sketches and security camera footage on Friday of the suspect and his vehicle involved in the July 27 child snatching, which took place at 6:55 a.m. in the area of 102nd Street and 88th Avenue.
According to authorities, the driver — described as a black male between 19 and 21 years of age — pulled up inside a gray Acura and engaged the young girl in conversation. The girl reportedly told him that she was on her way to school, and the driver — claiming to be a friend of her family — offered her a lift.
Law enforcement sources said the young girl entered the man’s vehicle. Her grandfather happened to witness her enter the car, which pulled away before he could get her away from the driver.
About an hour later, WABC-TV reported, the suspect dropped the girl off at the corner of Jamaica Avenue and Woodhaven Boulevard in Woodhaven. The youngster then walked to school and reported the incident to officials, who contacted her family and the 102nd Precinct. No injuries were reported.
