A bicyclist died on Monday after a minivan crashed into him on the Grand Central Parkway, police said.
On Sept. 5 at approximately 12:50 a.m., police found a man injured on the eastbound Grand Central Parkway in the vicinity of 111th Street in Corona.
An investigation found that the bicyclist, whose identity has not been released pending family notification, was traveling on the left shoulder of the parkway when he veered into the left lane of traffic.
A Mazda MPV minivan struck the bicyclist, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, a 33-year-old male, stayed at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing by the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad.
